Chicago Med: New Deal With NBCUniversal Allows Netflix To Stream Series

Written by John Lee

For the first time in the history of the One Chicago franchise, a series from the franchise, such as Chicago Med, is about to become available for broadcast on a streaming platform such as Netflix.

On July 21, it was confirmed that one of the series Chicago Med of the One Chicago franchise will air on Netflix on July 22 as part of a new agreement reached between Netflix and NBCUniversal, but what else is known about this?

Interestingly, the July 22 release date is exactly two months ahead of the previously announced season 7 premiere date of Chicago Med, which premieres on NBC on Wednesday, September 22.

While it’s unclear how many seasons of the series will make it to Netflix, one thing is certain that the series will definitely hit the streaming platform starting today at 12:01 a.m. PT / 3:01 a.m. ET.

It’s definitely unusual for a show to be announced and appear on Netflix within 24 hours, but the news should be music to fans’ ears for many reasons.

One is that it now gives you the option to start a new rendition of the show’s first seasons before season 7 which kicks off in September.

In case the series Chicago Med I got into Netflix’s Top 10 and managed to have solid streaming numbers, NBCUniversal and Netflix may be looking for a similar deal allowing the other series in the One Chicago franchise, such as Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, to appear on Netflix.
