Written by John Lee

CBS’s crime investigation drama NCIS has started filming this week for season 19, and stars Wilmer Valderrama and Brian Dietzen have released new photos on the film set.

Season 18 of the broadcaster’s long-running crime investigation drama CBS, NCIS, released its last episode in the last days of May, leaving fans with a huge intrigue about the fate of Leroy Gibbs (Mark Harmon).

CBS announced last week when the series will return with the new episodes. And just months before the Season 19 premiere, the NCIS team and cast returned to the film set on July 15 to begin production.

To confirm the start of shooting, the stars of the long-running CBS drama, Wilmer Valderrama (Agent Nick Torres) and Brian Dietzen (forensic scientist Jimmy Palmer), they have released new photos of the NCIS set. While they aren’t revealing much about the new episodes, it’s cause for excitement that the drama is back in action.

We’re a few months away from NCIS returning for its nineteenth season, on a new night and at a new time (Monday, September 20 at 9/8c), but we may already be getting hints as to what to expect.

For his part, star Wilmer Valderrama shared a photo from his trailer commemorating the start of work in Season 19. Agent Torres is expected to find his newfound love after Bishop’s abrupt departure in the following episodes.

Meanwhile, on the same day, writer-producer Christopher J. Waild released the cover of the premiere script (which he wrote himself). However, if you expect a clue in the title, you’re out of luck; used a pen to cover it.

Star Brian Dietzen also shared a photo from the set, of his character’s signature glasses, Dr. Jimmy Palmer. The photo was accompanied by the following caption on his Instagram account:

These are now appearing on my face. Well hello Jimmy. Let’s do it. “
